Hello there! Andy Price from Initial IT Solutions Ltd here. Let's delve into the latest enhancements in Microsoft Teams, focusing on the new features and agents introduced with Copilot. These updates are designed to make your collaborative efforts smoother and more efficient.

1. Interpreter Agent in Teams

Imagine being able to sound just like yourself, but in a different language. The Interpreter agent in Teams provides real-time speech-to-speech interpretation during meetings, and you can opt to have it simulate your speaking voice for a more personal and engaging experience. This feature is set to enter public preview in early 2025.

2. Employee Self-Service Agent in Business Chat

Navigating company policies can be a maze. The Employee Self-Service Agent in Business Chat quickly answers common policy questions and makes it easy to complete key tasks, starting with HR and IT. It can help employees understand their benefits or request a new laptop. This agent can be customized in Copilot Studio to meet the unique needs of your organization and is currently in private preview.

3. Facilitator and Project Manager Agents

Meetings and project management just got easier. The Facilitator agent takes real-time notes in Teams meetings and chats, ensuring nothing slips through the cracks. Meanwhile, the Project Manager agent automates plan creation and even completes tasks in Microsoft Planner. Both agents are in public preview.

4. Copilot Actions

Microsoft is introducing Copilot Actions, allowing workers to set up simple workflow automations so that M365 Copilot can take on repetitive tasks.

5. Copilot Studio Enhancements

For those looking to tailor their Copilot experience, Copilot Studio has received significant upgrades. Integration between Copilot Studio and the Microsoft 365 Agent SDK is two-way: You can use Semantic Kernel to add memory and skills to a Copilot Agent, adding additional features, or your C# code can call an existing Copilot Agent without needing to build API integration thanks to the Power Platform’s library of connectors.

6. Microsoft Teams Telephony

Did you know, you can use Microsoft Teams as your phone system.

Microsoft Teams Telephony is the next evolution in business communication, combining the familiar collaboration tools of Teams with a robust, cloud-based phone system. With Teams Telephony, businesses can make and receive calls directly from Teams, eliminating the need for traditional phone systems. This all-in-one solution streamlines communication, integrates seamlessly with your existing Microsoft 365 environment, and enables employees to stay connected from anywhere. Whether it’s managing calls, hosting virtual meetings, or accessing voicemail, Teams Telephony empowers businesses with a flexible, secure, and scalable platform designed to meet the demands of the modern workforce. Say goodbye to clunky desk phones and hello to smarter, more efficient communication!

These advancements in Microsoft Teams aim to streamline workflows, enhance communication, and boost productivity. By leveraging these new features and agents, your team can focus more on strategic tasks and less on routine operations.
