Just received a new computer from Initial IT?

Great!

You're only minutes away from getting started.

Whether it’s a desktop or a laptop, we’ve already taken care of the technical side for you.

Using Windows Autopilot, your device configures itself automatically the moment it’s powered on and connected to the internet.

This step-by-step guide will walk you through the short setup process with no IT knowledge required.

What We've Already Set Up for You

Every new device we provide is

  • Pre-registered and ready to auto-configure using Windows Autopilot

  • Protected with our core security tools

  • Installed with apps like Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams, and OneDrive

  • Connected to remote management so we can support you efficiently

You don’t need to install or configure anything manually. Just follow the steps below.

Step-by-Step Setup Guide

Step 1: Power on and connect to Wi-Fi or Ethernet

  • Turn the computer on using the power button

  • If you’re not using a wired internet connection, connect to your Wi-Fi network

  • Follow the on-screen prompts

    • Confirm your region: United Kingdom

    • Choose your keyboard layout: UK

    • Click Skip if asked to add a second keyboard layout

    • Enter your Wi-Fi password if required

Step 2: Your device will begin automatic setup

After connecting to the internet, the device will begin applying your organisation’s settings.

You’ll likely see a message such as:“Setting up your device for work or school”

This is expected and it means the system is doing its job.

Just let it run. No clicks required.

Step 3: Sign in with your work or school account

Once setup is complete, you'll be asked to sign in.

  • Use your business email address

  • Enter your password

  • If asked, approve login using your mobile phone or authenticator app

This step links your new device to your files, emails, and applications securely.

Step 4: Let your files and apps sync

Your device will now:

  • Sync your OneDrive files

  • Sign you into Outlook, Teams, and other Microsoft 365 apps

  • Apply security and compliance settings in the background

After a few minutes, your desktop will look familiar, and you’re ready to go.

You're All Set

Your new computer is now:

  • Fully configured and protected

  • Ready to use in the office or at home

  • Monitored and supported by our technical team
